Taking the disgusting food from the air hostess I unfold the tray of my window seat and keep looking down to the rainbow-like kid of a military who just saw his father almost a year after. I was amazed, it was not something that one would see every day. I remember Deepak once told me we should not show rainbows to others by our hands. It’s not always that Deepak comes to my mind whenever I see a rainbow but god knows why this time.
The deadly bow of Indra, the promise of Allah and the power of the celestial dragon, was beautified by seven Dazzling colors. It was not just a regular arc, it was a full circle of different vibrant colors. Despite all the other passengers in that plane, I felt like it was just me flying over that beautiful art of the sun and water. It was in fact happiness, a subtle one. The height that I was flying was like high of some beautiful drugs.
A young blondie with blue eyes and purple lips, in the aisle seat next to me, was holding a book. The title wrote The Right Time by Danielle Steel. I rolled my sleeves up and poke her. She then kept her cute little bookmark in between the pages and then turned towards me. Pointing my index finger towards the window, I showed her the rainbow that never looked so gorgeous before. She then leaned towards the window taking off her specs and she saw it. It was later at the checkouts, she told me that she hadn’t seen any of them before in her life.

She gave me a quick little smile. It was quick and little but I still remember her purple smile. I still remember how her skin near the lips wrinkled while her dimples gently waved me goodbye. It was my stupidity that I didn’t ask her name or where she lived or even started a conversation. I watched her leave with her luggage and waving for a cab in a distance, little did she know that I saw two of the most beautiful thing in my life that day, the rainbow and that smile of hers.
